In short
Capman helps you see and understand your money. It gives guidance, not regulated financial, tax or legal advice, and you make the decisions.
It reads your accounts and cannot move your money. The AI can make mistakes, so check what it reads before you rely on it.
Your data stays yours. You can export it and leave at any time.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and [COMPANY NAME, legal form, ADDRESS, COUNTRY] ("Capman", "we", "us"). By signing in to or using Capman you accept them. If you use Capman for an organisation, you confirm you can bind it. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
2. What Capman is, and is not
Capman brings together information about what you own and owe, reads statements and transactions, and proposes categories, allocations and scenarios. It has an AI advisor that answers questions from the data you have added.
- Guidance, not advice. Capman is not a bank, broker, investment adviser or tax adviser, and it does not give regulated financial advice. What it shows and suggests is general information and estimates based on what you have added.
- Estimates can be wrong. Projections depend on assumptions, many of them set by you. They are not forecasts or guarantees, and past performance does not predict future results.
- You decide. Before acting on anything involving large sums, taxes, legal structures or retirement, consider speaking to a qualified professional who knows your situation.
- Capman never moves your money. It cannot make payments, transfers or trades, and bank access is read-only.
3. Access to the service
Capman is currently open by invitation only. We may change who can join, add or remove features, and run beta features that are provided as they are, without promised support.
4. Your account and household
You sign in with Google. Keep your Google account secure, give us accurate information, and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what people you invite do with the role you give them. The owner of a household decides who joins and what role they have (owner, member, accountant or viewer).
5. Your data
- It is yours. You keep all rights in what you add. You give us permission to store and process it, and to send it to the providers listed in the privacy policy, only to run Capman for you.
- Check what the AI reads. AI turns statements into figures and classifications. Capman marks what it is unsure about as proposed, and you should review everything before you rely on it. You are responsible for the data you confirm.
- Outside data can be wrong. Information from banks, data providers and exchange rates may be late, estimated or incorrect. Check important figures with the original source.
- Only add what you may add. Do not upload data about other people unless you are entitled to, and do not upload passwords, card numbers or government identity numbers.
- Keep your own copies. We take care to protect your data but cannot promise it will never be lost. You can export it from Settings.
6. Bank connections
You can connect accounts through third-party providers such as Plaid and Enable Banking. Their terms apply to those connections. You can disconnect at any time. Doing so in Capman asks the provider to revoke access where it supports that. Some European connections stay open at your bank until they expire, and you can end them in your bank's own settings.
7. Fees
[CONFIRM: Capman is currently free to invited users.] Capman is intended to be paid for by a yearly subscription from you, and we do not take commissions or referral fees. Before we charge anything, we will tell you the price and what it covers and ask you to agree. If prices change, we will give you reasonable notice before the change applies to you. [Add cancellation, refund and renewal terms when billing launches]
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use Capman for fraud or money laundering;
- attempt to access data that is not yours, or get round the access limits in the service;
- scrape, copy, resell or reverse engineer Capman, or probe it for weaknesses without our written permission;
- overload the service or upload malicious files;
- use the AI features to try to make the service behave in ways it is not meant to.
If you find a security problem, please tell us privately at [security contact] and give us a reasonable time to fix it.
9. Our rights in Capman
Capman, its software, design, name and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Capman at any time. Ask us to delete your data and we will do it within 30 days, as the privacy policy describes. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if you put the service or other people at risk. We will tell you why where we can, and give you a chance to export your data unless the law or a safety reason prevents it. Sections that by their nature should continue after the end of the agreement, such as 11 to 13, do.
11. Our responsibility
We provide Capman with reasonable care and skill, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that figures, categories or suggestions will be accurate or suitable for you.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for lost profits or investment losses, or for decisions you make based on Capman. Our total liability to you for anything connected with Capman is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and [EUR 100].
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury, fraud, or intentional or grossly negligent harm, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [COUNTRY]. If we cannot settle a dispute informally, the courts of [PLACE] decide it, except that consumers can also use the courts where they live and any mandatory rights they have under local law.
13. Changes and notices
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using Capman after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can export your data and leave. We may send notices to the email address on your account or show them in the app.
14. General
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. These terms are the whole agreement between us about Capman. We may transfer them to a successor, and if so we will tell you first and let you leave with your data. You may not transfer your account to someone else without our consent. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version controls.
